"Baku Energy Week Strengthens Azerbaijan’s Position in Global Energy Cooperation"

Chairman of the Azerbaijan Society of Appraisers (AQC) and economic expert Vugar Oruc has emphasized the strategic significance of Baku Energy Week in reinforcing Azerbaijan’s role in international energy cooperation. Oruc noted that the event serves as a vital platform for enhancing Azerbaijan’s global energy diplomacy and investment potential.

According to him, the 30th Baku Energy Week, featuring the Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition, Caspian Power Exhibition, and the Baku Energy Forum, once again highlights Azerbaijan’s prominent role on the global energy agenda:

“Representatives from the European Union, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas — including government officials, multinational energy corporations, investors, and environmental innovators — have gathered in Baku. This demonstrates that Azerbaijan is not only a regional hub for the Caspian basin but also a reliable partner in global energy security.”

Vugar Oruc stressed that Baku Energy Week also plays a vital role in strengthening energy diplomacy and fostering new partnerships. He noted that panel discussions, bilateral meetings, and cooperation agreements signed during the event open new opportunities for Azerbaijan’s energy strategy:

“Azerbaijan is enhancing its role not only as a traditional energy exporter but also as a country adopting and applying new green energy technologies. At a time when alternative energy routes to Europe are increasingly relevant, Baku is becoming a strategic and reliable partner.”

The economist added that the Caspian Power Exhibition, which focuses on green energy technologies and sustainable energy discussions, underscores that Azerbaijan’s energy strategy is not solely based on hydrocarbons. He pointed out that planned projects in solar, wind, and hydro energy demonstrate the country’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

“The strong international interest in the event creates a favorable platform for attracting new investments into Azerbaijan’s energy sector. The introduction of innovative technologies and the organization of B2B meetings offer great potential for foreign investors, increasing the sector’s competitiveness. These developments confirm that Azerbaijan’s energy policy is forward-looking, open to partnerships, and firmly rooted in global cooperation,” Oruc concluded.
