The first meeting of ASA’s scientific-methodological council was held

The first meeting of the Scientific-Methodological Council under the Azerbaijan Society of Appraisers (ASA) has been held.

The meeting was opened with an introductory speech by Vugar Oruc, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Society of Appraisers (ASA) and President of the Council of Appraisers Associations of Turkic States (CAATS). He spoke about the necessity of establishing the Scientific-Methodological Council. He noted that ASA, being one of the first associative public organizations in Azerbaijan, made this decision to enhance the knowledge and skills of appraisers and to organize scientific and methodological activities. On behalf of the organization, he expressed his gratitude to the prominent scholars of the country who are represented in the Council.

Chairman of the Scientific-Methodological Council, economist and scholar Dr. Ibrahim Guliyev, presented the main goals ahead to the participants. He stated that the Council, mobilized to develop valuation standards and organize scientific-methodological activities, will also launch a scientific journal. The journal will publish articles not only in the field of valuation but also covering various areas of the economy, and will operate in accordance with international standards. “Relevant institutions have already been approached regarding this matter, and the registration process will be completed soon,” emphasized Dr. Guliyev.

He also mentioned that work is underway to form the journal’s editorial and management boards, and that international experts will be involved in this process. Members of the Council who spoke at the meeting highlighted the importance of the Council and the upcoming scientific journal. They noted that valuation is an integral part of the economic ecosystem, and that publishing solid scientific articles both in print and digital formats is a pressing need. It was decided that the legal and technical processes necessary for the journal's launch will be finalized in a short period, and that the first issue will be published as soon as possible.

Dr. Guliyev also stated that the Scientific-Methodological Council is ready to cooperate with the State Examination Center. He added that scholars represented in the Council have been actively involved in developing the test bank for professional certification exams for appraisers. “We believe that the professionalism of the questions in these exams should be enhanced, and the Scientific-Methodological Council of the Azerbaijan Society of Appraisers is ready to play an active role in this process,” he said.

• Dr. Vusala Naghiyeva, Head of Department at Baku Eurasian University, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor

• Dr. Nezaket Musayeva, Associate Professor at UNEC, PhD in Economics

• Dr. Natavan Namazova, Associate Professor at Azerbaijan Technical University, PhD in Economics

• Dr. Ulker Sadigova, Associate Professor, PhD in Economics

• Dr. Ilgar Mammadov, Associate Professor at UNEC, PhD in Economics
